505 _a"Converging Disensus! This paradoxical expression underscores the transformations that take place in Canada and in the Americas within the knowledge-based society. On one hand, cultures and corporate cultures interconnect thanks to symbolic and economic wealth creation while new agreements and exchanges emphasize what is common between people in the Americas. On the other hand, a better knowledge of the continent shows important cultural and economic differences. One thing is clear: border culture is present in every location and new possibilities of interconnections are springing thanks to increased democracy and the multiplication of discourses. In this context, Canada, with its multicultural policies, its Welfare-State's social protections and its economic liberalism, can show what can be pragmatically done in order to allow people with different pasts to have a common future."
